API in pharma
Active pharmaceutical ingredients (API’s) are the substances in medicines, which give them their therapeutic properties. APIs are produced in high value-added product batches, requiring corrosion resistant reactors, overhead condensers and pipework: reactor vessel, overhead condensers and PTFE-lined pipes.
TDI and MDI
Isocyanates are primarily used in the manufacture of polyurethane foam for applications including the construction and automotive industries. TDI and MDI are produced in highly acidic and corrosive environments at high temperatures.
Treatment, recovery, concentration and dilution
Hydrochloric acid is an integral part of the worldwide chlorine industry. Most of the HCl produced is generated as a by-product via chlorination reactions. About 40 processes generate HCl as a coproduct and about 110 chemical manufacturing processes utilize hydrochloric acid as a raw material.
