Phosphoric acid

Phosphoric acid (H3PO4) is mainly use in the production of fertilizers.

Mersen provides corrosion-resistant process equipment which are part of the pre-treatment (concentration) and post-treatment (defluoration) of the wet phosphoric acid production.

Active pharmaceutical ingredients - API

API in pharma

Active pharmaceutical ingredients (API’s) are the substances in medicines, which give them their therapeutic properties. APIs are produced in high value-added product batches, requiring corrosion resistant reactors, overhead condensers and pipework: reactor vessel, overhead condensers and PTFE-lined pipes.

Isocyanate

TDI and MDI

Isocyanates are primarily used in the manufacture of polyurethane foam for applications including the construction and automotive industries. TDI and MDI are produced in highly acidic and corrosive environments at high temperatures.

Treatment, recovery, concentration and dilution

Hydrochloric acid is an integral part of the worldwide chlorine industry. Most of the HCl produced is generated as a by-product via chlorination reactions. About 40 processes generate HCl as a coproduct and about 110 chemical manufacturing processes utilize hydrochloric acid as a raw material.

Mersen offers corrosion-resistant equipment and packages to treat (organic or inorganic removal), concentrate at any rate, recover, dry, dilute and liquefy HCl (from hydrochloric acid or hydrogen chloride).

The specialty chemicals industry synthesizes a very diverse range of products, from paints and flavorings to agrochemicals (plant health products).
